QA Test Estimation and Metrics
Speaker: Jonathan Taylor, Technical Director of Quality Assurance, Computer Technology Solutions (CTS)
QA Test Estimation and Metrics
When setting expectations of Quality is one of the easiest / most critical steps in test planning. Aggressively communicating test estimation is the first way you can set quality expectations for software. Like software developers who want to just jump straight into coding, we often find ourselves concentrating on the product and how we want to break things. This is important. However, we can find 50 ways to break something but it won't happen if we don't have enough time.
In this presentation we talk about some key metrics to capture to ramp up your estimation. We’ll also talk about some tactics to implement them. To do this we'll cover some ideas from a Test Maturity Model, cover some basic negotiation skills and I’ll cover some of our recent estimation wins and losses.
